Claim
Report the loss to the insurer
Use the claims number or digital route on the insurance card, policy documents, or carrier application. The insurer assigns the claim and decides coverage and payment under the policy.
Emergency and loss-safety steps
Call 911 for immediate danger, injury, fire, crime, or another emergency. When safe, take reasonable steps to prevent additional damage and document the condition. Do not risk injury or discard damaged property before the insurer provides instructions.
What the agency can do
- Help identify the issuing insurer and its appropriate service route.
- Help explain which policy document or contact point to look for.
- Help communicate a service concern to the appropriate party.
What the agency does not control
- The carrier's billing platform, due-date rules, reinstatement decision, late fee, or payment processing.
- Claim investigation, coverage decisions, adjuster assignment, repair authorization, settlement amount, or payment timing.
- Whether a reported loss is covered; the policy and insurer's claim review control.
Do not treat an email, voicemail, or web request to Valley West Insurance as proof that a premium was paid, a claim was filed with the insurer, or coverage was changed. Obtain confirmation from the responsible insurer or authorized representative.
